Kite thread →Pakistan is one of the world's largest cotton producers and has one of the deepest textile value chains anywhere, from ginning and spinning through weaving, processing and stitching. Soltex works inside that chain. We supply the raw and semi-finished materials that other factories depend on: the yarn that feeds a loom, the thread that closes a seam, the canvas that becomes a tent and the fabric that becomes the panels of a football.
Our customers are garment and home-textile makers, sports goods manufacturers, tent and tarpaulin makers, bag and footwear factories, traders and wholesalers, and exporters who need dependable material for their own international orders. Many of them buy several product ranges from us, which keeps their supply chain shorter and simpler.
What ties our range together is a focus on consistency. A spinner who changes cotton mixing without warning, or a weaver who drifts on picks per inch, creates problems that only show up later at the buyer's end. We treat each order specification as a commitment and check it before goods leave our hands.
Yarn is the foundation of everything we do. We supply carded and combed cotton yarn, open-end (rotor) yarn for denim and heavy fabrics, ring-spun yarn for finer weaving and knitting, 100% polyester spun yarn and poly-cotton blends such as PC 52/48 and CVC 60/40. Counts run from coarse single-digit Ne counts used in canvas, towels and industrial cloth up to finer counts used in shirting and knitwear.
Buyers choose yarn on a handful of measurable properties: count and count variation, strength (single-yarn strength and CSP), evenness and imperfections, twist per inch, hairiness and moisture. We share these values for each lot, so you can compare like with like rather than relying on a description. Yarn is packed on paper or plastic cones in cartons or bags, with lot numbers marked for traceability.
For a full list of counts, blends and packing options, see our yarn and threads page.
Thread is a different product from weaving yarn even when the fibre is the same. It needs higher twist balance, lubrication for high-speed sewing and a smooth surface that runs through needles without breaking. We supply spun polyester sewing thread, core-spun poly-poly thread, cotton thread for dyeable garments, and heavy bonded threads for leather goods, bags, upholstery and sports goods.
Industrial users also rely on us for winding, binding and stitching threads used outside apparel, including thread for hand-stitched footballs and the specialised bladder winding thread used to reinforce rubber bladders.
Our weaving range covers greige (unfinished) fabric and finished fabric in common constructions: plain weave poplin and sheeting, twill and drill for workwear and uniforms, matt or panama weaves, and heavy duck and canvas. We weave on shuttleless looms suited to commercial widths and can match an existing sample by checking ends per inch, picks per inch, warp and weft counts and GSM.
If you are developing a new fabric, we help translate an end use into a construction. A bag maker needs abrasion resistance and stiffness; a workwear brand needs tear strength and comfort; a printer needs a clean, absorbent surface. Read more on our weaving page.
Polyester brings tensile strength, dimensional stability and colour fastness that cotton alone cannot match. That makes it essential for industrial thread, sports goods, outdoor fabric and blends that need to survive repeated washing. We supply polyester spun yarn, polyester filament for technical uses, and woven polyester and poly-cotton fabrics. Visit our polyester page for deniers, counts and applications.
Canvas is one of Pakistan's best-known textile exports. Heavy cotton canvas and duck fabric are used for tents, tarpaulins, truck covers, school and travel bags, shoe uppers, aprons, painting canvas and industrial covers. We supply canvas in a wide GSM range, in greige, dyed and finished form, with optional water-repellent, rot-proof and fire-retardant treatments carried out by specialist processors. Details are on our canvas and cotton fabric page.
Sialkot is famous worldwide for footballs, and the city's ball makers rely on a steady supply of laminating fabric. Behind every synthetic leather (PU or PVC) panel are several layers of woven or non-woven cotton and polyester fabric glued together to give the ball its shape, bounce and durability. We supply these football fabrics in the constructions and widths ball makers use, alongside stitching thread and bladder winding thread.
Higher-grade match balls often use a wound bladder: a latex or butyl bladder wrapped in thousands of metres of continuous thread before the outer panels are attached. The winding keeps the ball round, controls its size under pressure and improves flight stability. Winding thread has to be strong, low in stretch and consistent from one bobbin to the next. Our bladder winding thread page explains the types, tenacity and packing we offer.
Kite flying has deep cultural roots in Pakistan, and the thread used for it, called dour or dor, is a traditional textile product. We supply plain cotton kite thread that is free of glass, metal and chemical coatings. Coated and metallic strings are dangerous to riders, pedestrians and birds and are banned in many districts. We do not make or sell them. Our kite flying thread page covers the plies, reel sizes and safe use guidance.
We check count, strength and appearance on yarn and thread, and construction, GSM, width and visible faults on fabric. Results are recorded against the lot number so a repeat order can be matched to the one before it.
A sports goods factory may need panel fabric, stitching thread and winding thread. A bag maker may need canvas, webbing yarn and bonded thread. Buying related materials from one source simplifies purchasing, reduces freight costs and makes it easier to trace a problem if one arises.
Before we start a made-to-order job, we confirm count, ply, twist, fibre, construction, width, GSM, shade, finish and packing in a written order sheet. If a specification cannot be met exactly, we say so before production rather than after delivery.
We send cones, spools and swatches so you can test in your own process. For fabric, we can produce a short sample run where needed to confirm hand feel and performance.
You get one point of contact for your order, regular production updates and prompt answers on WhatsApp, phone or email.

Pakistani yarn, canvas and sports-ball materials are bought by manufacturers in many countries. For export orders we prepare commercial invoices, packing lists and the certificate of origin, and work with your freight forwarder or arrange shipment on FOB or CFR terms. Mixed containers combining yarn, thread and fabric can be arranged where volumes allow.
Quality in textiles is measurable, so we measure it. For yarn and thread, we check count and its variation, single-yarn strength, twist and visible faults such as slubs, neps and contamination. For fabric, we check ends and picks per inch, GSM, width, and run a visual inspection for weaving faults like broken ends, double picks, floats and stains. Kite thread and winding thread are checked for ply consistency, strength and reel or bobbin weight.
Where a buyer has their own test standard or third-party inspection requirement, we work to it. Results are kept against the lot number, so if you need a repeat order six months later, we know exactly what you received last time.
Yarn and thread are packed on cones or spools in cartons or polypropylene bags, fabric is rolled on tubes or folded in bales, and kite thread is packed on reels in cartons. Every pack is labelled with the product, specification and lot number. Stock items can usually be dispatched within days, while made-to-order yarn and woven fabric depend on quantity and loom schedule; we give a firm lead time with each quotation.
